A parade on Station Road during King George V’s Coronation celebrations in 1911

The extent of the uncovered section of the station can be seen; with the goods yard adjacent to the road and a considerable number of passenger carriages along the platforms.

In the distance can be seen the old Fire Station tower, the footbridge over the railway, the engine shed and the former Ilkley Brewery.

The ‘Winter gardens’, opened in 1914, was built on the site of the small park seen on the bottom right of the picture.
